Llaingoch Show 14th August 2004
Two years running! The RedLawn Brewery has won another first prize in the Llaingoch and District Horticultural Show, this time with Tywyllwch! Chwd Cybi wins first prize! Chwd Cybi won first prize in the Llaingoch and District Horticultural show on the 16th August 2003. The wine and beer section was well represented but the judges voted Chwd Cybi to be the best beer in the show. Mr Albert Owen MP was seen to look at the beer during his visit to the show. Also, the Mayor of Holyhead was in attendance but was not seen in close proximity to the beer. |
BrewsChwd Cybi is an old fashioned thirst quencher, made from Goldings hops and malt extract. It is simple to make and matures quickly.
Gwlithyn is a mild in the Bass style, using Challenger bittering hops and Goldings hops for flavour. Black malt gives a wonderful colour and helps to impart a pronounced nut character. Cadfarch is a no nonsense bitter. Hops, malt, water and yeast, plus a bit of Irish Moss! Tywyllwch is a brown ale intended for bottling. It is lighter than the name suggests! Only Fuggles Hops are used in this brew. Cyfnos is a stout in the Irish Style. Challenger and Target hops together with malt and barley give this brew a delicious taste and colour.
